A tribute to Georg Scheu (1879-1949). The conscientious vine breeder and winemaker, succeeded in 1916 in Alzey, Rheinhessen, to combine the best characteristics of two grape varieties in one.
The Scheurebe was born, although it bears the name of its breeder only since 1950 and before that was known as seedling 88.
The parents – Riesling and Bukettrebe – of the Rheinhessen prodigy were later precisely determined by DNA analysis.
The sparkling white wine cuvée captivates with aromas of citrus and exotic fruits.
The sparkling freshness and fine minerality of the Riesling are perfectly rounded off by some residual sugar and the rich fruit notes of the Scheurebe.
ONKEL DOKTOR is not only a perfect aperitif wine, but also a versatile food companion in light cuisine: it goes perfectly with white meat, quiche or summer BBQ and harmonizes skillfully with Asian spices.
