In the northwestern part of Rheinhessen, around our home Badenheim and also in the districts of Wöllstein and Siefersheim, our wines grow on 36 hectares of vineyards, with the most diverse soil formations. Our grapes carry an immense collection of influences. Characterized by their origin of

Due to the markedly wind-protected south-facing slope, our grapes always have the greatest ripening advantage here. The high gravel content of the clay warms the soil very easily and releases the stored heat to the vines for a long time, even at night. This is where our most substantial Rieslings and Silvaners grow.
The variations of the soils, the climatic influences and always a consistent and long-term involvement of the winemaker with the vineyard, lead in the result to healthy, golden grapes with unique flavors. With all these conditions, the soil is our most important asset. Because only from living soils come living wines.

The protruding, pointed mountain (=horn) has arched up by an underground lava flow. Here our vines stand on volcanic weathered rock and grow in a true “STONE SEA”. The terrain, located at an altitude of 250 meters, belongs to the cooler climates in Rheinhessen, here the grapes ripen slowly and the acidic volcanic rock provides pronounced notes of flint and salt in these wines.
